Technical Regulation

The Technology & Engineering is responsible for overseeing Technical Regulation aspects of the ICT Act No. 15 of 2009. It does this using five pillars below;

  1. Standards & Networks
  2. Cyber Security
  3. Spectrum Planning & Licensing and
  4. Spectrum Engineering and Monitoring
  5. Quality of Service.

Technical regulation for the ICT industry in Zambia requires that scarce resources such as the radio frequency spectrum, numbers and country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) names are regulated. The department also spearheads cybersecurity in the country and ensures that Quality Services are provided by all licensees.
